F.acT: What are the objectives of the Interreg project NetWorkMob in Tyrol and South Tyrol?
Daniel Kees: NetWorkMob aims to make corporate mobility in Tyrol and South Tyrol future-proof, sustainable and economically efficient. To this end, we are bringing together a strong, cross-border network that connects regional competence centers, local development initiatives and committed companies. Today's mobility issues cannot be solved in isolation. They require cooperation, knowledge transfer and tailor-made solutions that take both ecological and economic aspects into account. This is exactly where NetWorkMob comes in: We support companies in developing their internal structures, processes and mobility strategies in such a way that they remain resilient, environmentally friendly and attractive to employees in the long term.
The focus is on practical consulting formats, training courses, peer learning programs and targeted exchanges between companies. Our aim is to establish sustainable mobility not as an additional task, but as a strategic success factor.
F.acT: Why is the topic of corporate mobility management particularly important for tourism businesses?
Daniel Kees: Tourism businesses face particular challenges when it comes to mobility issues. They are often located in peripheral regions where dependency on cars is high and seasonal peaks create additional traffic congestion. Employees often have to travel at off-peak times, guests expect flexible mobility options and, at the same time, the demands for sustainability from politicians, the markets and the guests themselves are increasing.
Mobility is also playing an increasingly important role in the competition for skilled workers: those that are difficult to reach or offer no alternatives to the car are becoming less attractive. At the same time, sustainable mobility is increasingly becoming part of the tourism quality promise. Operational mobility management enables tourism businesses to tackle these challenges strategically and thus make a credible contribution to regional climate goals.
F.acT: How can tourism businesses benefit from your project in concrete terms?
Daniel Kees: The greatest added value for tourism businesses lies in networking: NetWorkMob brings together businesses from Tyrol and South Tyrol that face similar mobility challenges, thus creating a practical exchange at eye level. Building on this, the companies benefit from practical solutions that can be transferred to their own operations. NetWorkMob also offers specialist events and workshops with mobility experts who provide valuable input and up-to-date know-how for strategic decisions.
In short: tourism businesses benefit from NetWorkMob through tried-and-tested solutions, a strong network and exclusive specialist input - a combination that noticeably optimizes their operational mobility and makes them fit for the future at the same time.
