Germany in the tourism year 2023/24

Germany remains by far the most important source market for Tirol. 46% of all German overnight stays in Austria are attributable to Tirol, and a total of 55% of all overnight stays in Tirol come from German guests.

In winter 2023/24, 3,032,830 arrivals (+2.5 %) and 13,368,482 overnight stays (+1.4 %) were recorded. Summer 2024 recorded 3,439,707 arrivals (+0.8 %) and 13,187,926 overnight stays (-0.4 %).

Over the entire tourism year 2023/24, this results in a total of 6,472,537 arrivals (+1.6 %) and 26,556,408 overnight stays (+0.5 %). The length of stay is 4.4 days in winter and 3.8 days in summer. Summer and winter each account for 50 % of all overnight stays.

Germany is also economically stable: GDP per capita is € 50,830, the unemployment rate is 3.4 % and inflation is 2.5 %. The population is 83.5 million - and is forecast to remain the same until 2030.
