We are inclusive

The award from the Ministry of Social Affairs Service to companies in Tyrol

F.acT: How long has the "We are inclusive" award been in existence and why was it created?

The "We are inclusive" award has been in existence since 2015, preceded by the long-standing Integration Award, which was presented once. With the seal of approval, which is valid for 3 years and can be extended by reapplying, we recognize private and public companies that employ and/or train people with disabilities in an inclusive manner. The aim is both to give visibility to companies that demonstrate how professional inclusion can work well, from the smallest to the largest companies, and to gain public recognition.

With the seal of approval, we are addressing companies that offer equal career opportunities and individual prospects. Companies that embrace professional inclusion, are open to it in the long term and see diversity as an internal benefit. This also means promoting, supporting and encouraging the professional inclusion and thus participation of young people and adults with disabilities and chronic illnesses in the primary labor market and in the public sector in general. Companies are the most important partners in breaking down barriers through their attitude and approach.

F.act: How many companies have already received awards here and are there any examples from the tourism industry?

Since 2015, 131 companies of all sizes, from a wide range of sectors and from all Tyrolean districts have received awards for the first time. There have also been 117 reawards to date, including companies that have already been reawarded 1-3 times. The proportion of businesses from the hotel and catering sector that have received the seal of quality is around 18%. This includes hotels and numerous catering businesses.

Under the link of NEBA Betriebsservice - which is the first point of contact for companies on the subject of work and disabilities - all companies that have already received one or more awards are visible.

F.acT: How extensive is the application for the seal of approval and how does it work?

The companies apply for the free seal of approval with the "We are inclusive" questionnaire and are not alone in doing so. The NEBA company service of the Social Ministry Service provides support during the application process. Private and public companies that employ and/or train people with disabilities can apply. This applies to companies throughout Tyrol and is independent of company size and sector. The information and descriptions provided by the company in the questionnaire form the basis for the evaluation and decision by the "Wir sind inklusiv" expert jury.

F.acT: What are the advantages of the quality seal for the companies?

Apart from a positive effect within the company, the award supports visibility in the public eye and can also be used well in the company's own image advertising. A particular benefit is that customers often react very positively to inclusive companies and potential employees become aware of employers that are attractive to them. The latter can ultimately also mean an expanded workforce potential for a company that is open to diversity.

The "We are inclusive" logo can be used on the company website, as a sticker and on stationery for the respective award period. Companies receiving the award for the first time also receive the permanent "We are inclusive" art object.
