Poland in the tourism year 2023/24
Poland is developing dynamically and is one of the fastest growing source markets in Tirol. Tirol is the most important vacation region in Austria for Polish guests, accounting for 29% of all overnight stays by Polish holidaymakers in Austria.
In the guest mix, Poland ranks 8th in winter (2%) and 11th in summer (0.9%). The winter season is clearly the dominant travel season, accounting for 72-74 % of all overnight stays.
In winter 2023/24, 105,385 arrivals (+12.5 %) and 562,595 overnight stays (+9.5 %) were achieved.
In summer 2024, Poland achieved 62,503 arrivals (+15.2 %) and 202,068 overnight stays (+2.0 %).
For the entire tourism year 2023/24, this results in a total volume of
167,888 arrivals (+13.5 %) and 764,663 overnight stays (+7.4 %).
The length of stay is 5.3 days in winter and 3.2 days in summer.
Polish guests have clear accommodation preferences: 50-52 % stay in vacation apartments, followed by 4/5-star hotels (18-19 %) and 3-star hotels (10-12 %).
The economic situation is stable: GDP per capita will be € 22,560 in 2024 and the population will be 36.8 million.
