Sustainability
Sustainability in tourism essentially aims to create a balance between economic benefit, environmental protection and social justice. Introduced by the UNWTO in 2015, the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) represent concrete sustainability targets to be achieved by 2030. Responsible and community-oriented tourism practices are designed to be in line with these global sustainability goals. In the context of sustainable supply chains, the perception of fairness, embedding in networks and knowledge sharing are considered essential to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals.
