F.acT: What role does the topic of sustainability play at TVB Achensee?
Maria Wirtenberger: Sustainability and a conscious approach to our landscape/nature have been taken into account in the development of offers and production at Lake Achensee for over 15 years. From the first approaches as a Karwendel Nature Park community to jointly developed programs and awareness-raising Achensee experiences, it has been possible to repeatedly set further important priorities in terms of sustainability. The revival of the Karwendel March was certainly a milestone in terms of tourism sustainability awareness. Together with the Olympiaregion Seefeld, the Karwendel Nature Park and the Tyrolean Department of Nature Conservation, the Achensee Tourism Association developed an event concept that resolved the conflict between tourism and nature conservation and enabled a sustainable approach to nature as a resource. The original idea was carried forward carefully and, above all, steadily. Since then, partners, helpers and participants have accompanied this path and together have made a nature-conscious and sustainable major event in the middle of a nature park possible.
F.acT: How did the idea for the Taktvoll campaign come about? What is the objective behind it?
Maria Wirtenberger: Projects such as the "Rofan" nature trail or experiences for visitors to Lake Achensee developed jointly with the Karwendel Nature Park have always been driven by the aspects of steering, guiding and teaching. Together, we must take responsibility for ensuring that our nature and landscape continue to serve as a place of strength and recreation for us all. Taking responsibility or steering, guiding and teaching is also possible via social media and so last spring we made a conscious decision to use this channel to create a shared sense of responsibility for our nature in addition to image campaigns for our region. The Achensee community seemed "mature" to us and our reach as a TVB was also suitable and sufficient to take this path.
The fact that content can/must be developed and conveyed differently for different channels and that each channel has its own language ultimately led to a separate text and visual language for "Taktvoll in der Natur".
The aim was and is to showcase current important behaviors in and with nature and to bring these closer to EVERYONE with a certain "tactful" approach, as sustainable results can only be achieved together and with each other. We all give something in return and we all get something in return.
F.acT: How is the campaign being received by guests?
Maria Wirtenberger: The campaigns, which until now have only been displayed on the Achensee Facebook page and the explanation also on achensee.com, changed their format in the first change of season (summer/winter), as Facebook unfortunately discontinued the notes. Since the winter campaigns, which now also included the expansion to a comic presentation, a separate Taktvoll Facebook album has been installed. Our Achensee Facebook followers react with varying degrees of intensity to various "Be tactful" topics. The reactions depend on how affected you feel or to what extent the topic appeals to you personally. Slowly and steadily, our posts are reaching more people and becoming more visible. Weekly evaluations and assessments also allow us to make small adjustments and adaptations time and again, allowing us to test how and where we can improve our reach on this topic. We will keep at it and are extremely motivated and also a little proud that we as a tourism association have managed to spread the topic of sustainability in this pleasant yet responsible way and include it in our communication.
