Start-up Revitalyze

Upcycling from office and hotel renovations
David Plaseller, Managing Director Revitalyze

F.acT: What is the idea behind Revitalyze - what problem are you trying to solve?

David Plaseller: With revitalyze, we have launched the "Circular Inventory" project together with Cemit GmbH and the Noamol association, which aims to give inventory, especially from office and hotel renovations, a new lease of life. Currently, less than 1% of building components are actually reused when a building is renovated or demolished. With this project, we want to help keep materials in circulation for longer. We are creating a platform where everyone can see what is available where and until when.

F.acT: How exactly can tourism businesses benefit from revitalyze?

David Plaseller: Tourism can generally benefit from revitalyze because we are talking about very short life cycles here, especially in the upscale hotel industry. I'm talking about around 5 years, after which the furnishings are considered outdated and no longer meet the standards. These are often well-preserved and high-quality components that can continue to be used without any problems. Perhaps also in a lower price segment.

F.acT: What do you have planned for the future? What further steps have you planned in the medium and long term?

David Plaseller : We are currently less active in the area of component placement and are concentrating on the technology behind it. We are currently working a lot in the area of AI and large language models to automate construction processes. We want to reach more construction companies with our solution and create operational added value. In the long term, we want to create network effects and further expand the platform for component procurement.
