The World Tourism Organization (UN Tourism) is the United Nations agency responsible for promoting responsible, sustainable and universally accessible tourism.
As the leading international organization in the tourism sector, it promotes tourism as a driver of economic growth, development and environmental protection. The World Tourism Organization provides guidance and support to the sector by promoting knowledge management and policy.
Today, the organization has 160 members, 6 associate members, 2 observers and more than 500 other members (affiliated members), including tourism associations, educational institutions and private organizations and companies.
UNWTO was the name of the organization UN Tourism until January 2024.
